I’m not really one for politics.
I’m just your typical American who wants to raise a nice family in a quiet town. I don’t really know whether or not we should be in Iraq, (though I’ll tell you it takes a good $80 to fill up my Ford these days). I haven’t voted since Jimmy Carter. Nowadays, I just try to keep out of it and focus on being a good father and a good husband.
Which is what makes some recent occurrences very awkward for me. I really hate to sling mud or sway my support towards one candidate or another, everyone’s got a right to his or her own decision in this great country, far be it from me to tell them how to vote. But at this point I feel it’d be irresponsible for me not to mention to someone that John McCain’s floating ghost head is haunting my 10 year-old daughter.
You can’t really see it, except for glimpses out of the corner of your eye, and you don’t really hear it either, except sometimes as a whisper that you convince yourself was just the wind. But lately my wife’s been taking pictures with this Polaroid camera she bought, and darned if McCain’s floating ghost head isn’t in every one of them.
